About

Des Moines Public Schools Early Childhood Programs provide quality learning experiences to help promote growth of young children and their families.  We adhere to state and national program standards to achieve our goal of Kindergarten Readiness.

We provide students access to a literacy/vocabulary rich, research supported curriculum and evidence based practices as well as additional skill practice and activity adaptations as needed.  Formative and summative assessment results direct large, small group, and individualized instruction.

Our family support services model provides a continuum of services at the program wide, building, classroom, and individual student/family level.  Services range from parent education, family engagement, case management, problem solving, and mental health consultation.  Support from an interdisciplinary team is provided based on the needs of the student and family.
